3/28/2024 0 Comments Using hand signals to train dogsSo this particular command is one that I really drive deep into them and I want them in this position I'm going to show you on purpose because I don't want them come and have their back to a potential distraction or something else going on I like for them to come to to my left side and sit on my left side and so that they can be facing whatever it is I'm facing dog obedience hand signals I think that's important and it locks them in to this particular command now I'm going to do this command where I'm going to take my left hand and I'm going to point to my left side and the command is I used two words right and here now he's not doing it because he doesn't associate those two words separated like that but when I used the finger point to the ground at my left side and those two words close together sergeant right here now he's amped up right now it's cool they love it when it's cool and I got the toy we've been working out and we've been doing a lot of videos so he's kind of but anyway that's the right here signal sergeant dead now that hand signal along with deck when I point to the deck he will go run jump on the deck now if I said okay right here is he awesome or what now I'm going to do the same type thing but instead of saying Dec K. So I'm going to give you the okay a release signal and see what he does and that hand signal is come that hand signal means to come sit right in front of me so when I'm teaching him that when I'm teaching them come I will not just say come I would say come now that's it did you see him kind of get a little antsy there come let's see he actually got his little rear off the ground an inch or two and came and sat down just when I did that I was kind of cool come Wow isn't he great he is locked now Laura's life has taught taught me how to get them to focus on me and look at me instead of the toy I didn't train him that way so he's locked in the tour on the toy but Leila the lovely I'm getting her a big dawn I'm getting them to look in my eyes but you know he's he's not trained that way now let's talk about another hand signal this is okay or release this is come sergeant now what I'm going to give you this next command is a crucial command for our system our training system because this particular command is so deeply ingrained in their in their brains that they will do it I mean if there's a distraction of some sort you you don't want them running away toward the distraction and you not able to control them. ![]() Hi everybody welcome to our digital German Shepherd mancom a little cool here really nice to have autumn weather and it's overcast today so we have really good light lately the lovely and the background she's wanting to get out because she knows I have the tio but we're going to bring sergeant into this articel because I'm going to show you some of the different hand signals that I use when I'm training a dog hand signals in my opinion are very very important it just gives the command more enhancement and it makes that it drives the the command into the dog's psyche quite a bit more than just verbal commands so I'm going to show you several different hand signals that I use here at German Shepherd mancom so I'm going to bring sergeant the super dog into this and and show you some of the hand signals that I use now when I'm training a dog and I give them the command this is the release command when I do this particular command both of my arms are gonna go straight out to the side that means okay a why that's my verbal command that goes along with the hands going out and it tells the dog that they are released from wherever they are now sergeant is currently posted up on our front deck and he is locked in to me and this toy right here.
